Student Ambassadors

Volunteering to become a Student Ambassador helps you to get more involved in how College life operates – it gives you the chance to represent the College, act as a voice for your fellow students and gain skills and experiences that can help when you’re applying for jobs or university.

There are a number of roles you can explore and you’ll get all the training, help and support you need along the way.

What's in it for me?

  • Stand out from the crowd by stepping up and taking on added responsibilities
  • Meet new people, make new friends and get to know more about your fellow students
  • Develop new skills and grow your confidence to boost your CV for your future career or personal statement for university.

Student Voice

Your views matter, so at Bedford College we make sure they’re heard. Each year students nominate members of the Student Voice Group – a group run for students, by students – and its aim is to provide a platform for you to let us know what you think.

If you put yourself forward to serve the Student Voice Group you’ll be meeting several times each year and helping to…

  • improve student life at our College
  • provide a student voice in the running of our College
  • organise activities for fun, and for fundraising
  • produce our student magazine
  • represent your views and those of your fellow students on College committees, such as the Safety Committee or Board of Governors.

Peer mentoring

Some students need extra support when they come to College – and sometimes the best advice comes from students themselves, which is why we offer a peer mentoring scheme that you can volunteer for.

You’ll receive the training and support to help you develop the skills you need to become a peer mentor, with a six-unit course designed by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation.
